BOND 2018 OVERVIEW

In January 2018, the NISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to call for an $848.9 million bond election to be placed on the May 5, 2018, ballot. In May, 68% of Northside ISD voters approved the bond package that was focused on upgrades to aging facilities and address the student enrollment growth in the western portions of Bexar County.

Projects from Bond 2018 include major renovations of libraries, cafeterias, fine arts areas, and science labs at older schools, four new schools, upgrades in infrastructure systems, safety and security upgrades, a new public service magnet program at Marshall High School, technology upgrades, and the purchase of additional school buses.

Sixty-five percent of Bond 2018 is dedicated to improvements at existing Northside ISD schools including addressing maintenance needs, additional learning spaces,
and safety and security upgrades.
